  1. Sung to the amended tune of "Oh Canada"

    Oh Canada,
    How badly I have planned.
I should have been born on your lovely land.
From the gorgeous snows to the rivers that flow to Canada's three seas.
From the granite mountain tops to the blowing crops as far as the eyes can see.
    Oh Canada,
Beautiful and free. You are more lovely than
    Obamaland will ever be.
If you take ever take refugees, please think of ME.

    Happy Canada Day !!!!

"There are no limits to the majestic future which lies before the mighty expanse of Canada with its aspiring, cultured, and generous-hearted people."

I'm glad to know two of them!

  10. We sang all 3 verses as our closing hymn in church on Sunday. It's something our congregation usually does twice each year (Canada and Remembrance Days). I can rarely sing it the whole way through, though, unless I concentrate on the alto line instead of the words. ;-)

    1. Sue - i often can't sing it the whole way through because of the beauty and meaning of the words!

  12. kymber,
The fight over what to name the day was interesting. I suppose our date name for the day made it easy, otherwise we would have had the same type factions. I did get around to reading it all just now. I was busy and exhausted when you posted it, then kept forgetting, or remembered when I was again exhausted. I would never have known about that part of the history if I you had not posted the history of Canada Day.
